for Artists Responding to Percent for Art Request for Proposal:
Hampton Beach State Park Redevelopment Project Sculpture-in-the-Round
The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts, in association with the Department of Resources and Economic Development (DRED), and the New Hampshire Division of Parks and Recreation, is pleased to announce a Request for Proposals for Sculpture in the Round for one site-specific or existing sculpture for the Hampton Beach State Park Redevelopment Project.
Artists who are interested in submitting proposals are strongly encouraged to attend the On-site Informational Meeting and Walking tour. IMPORTANT: You must RSVP to attend. Please contact Julie Mento at (603) 271-0790, julie,mento@dcr.nh.gov to RSVP. Inclement weather may occur and we will contact you if this meeting is postponed.

2011 Governors Arts Awards
Call for Nomination Deadline: February 1, 2011, 4:15 p.m.
Request for Proposals to Create & Design the Awards - Deadline: January 14, 2010, 4:15 p.m.
The Governors Arts Awards recognize outstanding contributions to the cultural life of New Hampshire made by individuals, organizations and communities. The State Arts Council is seeking nominations for the Awards in the following categories:
Arts Education, Community Spirit, Cultural Access Leadership, Distinguished Arts Leadership, Folk Heritage, Individual Arts Patron and Lotte Jacobi Living Treasure, a lifetime achievement award.
Please take a moment to consider individuals, organizations and communities that deserve to be acknowledged with a nomination for a 2011 Governors Arts Award. Nominations can be made by any individual, group, organization or business. Awards will be presented in April, 2011.

FY2011 Request for Proposals to Design and Create the Governors Arts Awards to be presented: The State Arts Council is inviting artists to submit proposals to create a unique 2- or 3-dimensional design for the 2011 Governors Arts Awards and create all awards based on this design. Artists will be asked to design an award interpreting the eagle sculpture that graces the New Hampshire State House and has long been the symbol of the Governors Arts Awards. Funds for this commission are provided through private donations.

FY2011 NHSCA Grant Deadlines:
Artist Entrepreneurial Grant
Deadline: January 14, 2011 (for projects taking place between March 1, 2011 & September 30, 2011)
The NH State Council on the Arts recognizes that artist-entrepreneurs contribute significantly to New Hampshire’s economy.
Artist Entrepreneurial Grants are competitive. They support opportunities that will increase the capacity of professional artists, including:
- The development of business skills needed to support their art making
- Participation in programs intended to raise the level and quality of their art making
- Participation in programs that will bring their art to the widest possible markets.
Grant requests may be made for $250 - $1,000.

General Project Grant
Deadline: January 28, 2011 (for projects taking place between March 1, 2011 & September 30, 2011)
General Project Grants are competitive and require a one-to-one match. They benefit New Hampshire by supporting both ongoing and new projects that bring arts presentations and activities to our communities.
Organizations seeking funding in this category are strongly encouraged to develop projects that:
- Include and compensate New Hampshire artists
- Bring arts presentations and activities to underserved populations in New Hampshire
- Incorporate sustainable and “green” principals (e.g. energy conservation, recycling and utilization of renewable resources).
Grant requests may be made for $750 - $3,000. Applicants may apply for more than one grant per fiscal year, but the total combined grant awards will not exceed $3,000.

FY2012 Grants Information Workshop
Date & Time: January 18, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Not-for-profit organizations, schools and individual artists interested in applying for New Hampshire State Council on the Arts FY2012 grants are encouraged to attend this grant information session, which will include an overview of the NHSCA, information on FY2012 grant opportunities and a summary of the program services we offer.
The New Hampshire State Council on the Arts has made several changes to our FY2012 grant categories. Even if you have applied for NHSCA grants in the past, you are strongly encouraged to attend this session and to visit our website to review the changes.

Take the Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce Online Survey by December 21, 2010
The Greater Concord Chamber of Commerce and the leaders of its Creative Concord initiative are studying the potential of developing affordable live and work space to support the growing creative sector in Concord, NH.
Two surveys (one for individuals and one for organizations) are being conducted. The results may assist in the development of a variety of affordable new spaces, including space where individuals and their families may live and work, and space where emerging and established businesses, cultural/arts organizations, artists and entrepreneurs can operate, share resources and access services.
The online survey is open through December 21, 2010. It should take about 10 minutes to complete. You do not need to live or work in Concord to participate.

- Any arts or culture nonprofit in CT, ME, NH, RI, or VT who DOES NOT file an IRS Form 990
- Any arts or culture nonprofit in MA who DOES NOT file an IRS Form 990 or the MA Cultural Data Project
